§ 7110.604. Radiation Transportation Emergency Response Plan


(a) PLANNING.-- The agency shall develop the Transportation Emergency Response Plan to respond to accidents involving the shipment of spent nuclear fuel, high-level waste, transuranic waste or a large quantity of radioactive material. The plan shall:

(1) Incorporate local agencies and volunteer organizations along the
preprescribed routes of transport.

(2) Incorporate any Commonwealth agency responsible for protection of
the health and safety of the public as necessary and approved by the
specific agency.

(b) FUNDING OF STATE AND LOCAL AGENCIES.-- Funds received under section 402(c)(4) shall be used to train and equip State and local agencies and volunteer organizations in accordance with regulations adopted by the council to implement the plan.
